Govt waives import duty on Remdesivir

New Delhi: The government has waved the import duty of Remdesivir, a drug used in the treatment of corona victims.

The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry gave this information in a notification issued late evening on Tuesday. The notification states that the import of Remdesivir medicine, ingredients used in its manufacture and Remdesivir injection in the country will be duty free.

The notification states that this order will remain in effect till 31 October 2021. This decision of the government is expected to increase the availability of Remdesivir medicines and injections in the country.
