Delhi, 6th July 2021: Smartphone application Truecaller has designated Pragya Misra Mehrishi as Director of Public Affairs in India. Earlier, Pragya was working with WhatsApp in the Communications department and was responsible for driving the recognition and advocacy efforts at the company. Pragya also has experience in managing product feature launches such as payments, brand, and education campaigns, solving complex policy matters related to privacy, security, user safety, and regulations at WhatsApp. Moreover, she has also advanced strategic alliances and programs to encourage digital and financial inclusion for the country’s growth and development.
At Truecaller which is one of the most-used apps for safer communication in India, Pragya will be leading the public affairs function and will report to Kari Krishnamurthy who is the Chief Commercial Officer. She will be in charge of sustaining relationships with important stakeholders of the company which includes government, media, partners, civil society, and investors. She will also be working in coordination with government ministries and agencies, and manage the implementation of public affairs strategy that is created to ensure that there is policy and regulatory assistance. Truecaller app aims to continue to increase the Public Affairs mandate by staying true to its commitment to India which has the biggest market share with more than 200 million users.

Before joining WhatsApp, Pragya has also gained the experience at Royal Danish Embassy in increasing trade relations from Danish private and public enterprises to India and South Asia, then also worked at EY India, and has also worked as an entrepreneur. Pragya has also served as a Heartfulness meditation trainer and represented India in golf in numerous international tournaments.
Truecaller is a smartphone application that has the specialties of caller-identification, call-blocking, flash-messaging, call-recording, Chat & Voice by applying the internet. It needs users to give a standard cellular mobile number for enrolling with the service. The app is available for Android and iOS users.
