Jawaharlal Nehru University asks students to clear dues

Jawaharlal Nehru University – JNU has asked students to clear their dues related to mess and hostel if they want to register for the next semester.

This move by the JNU administration has been called by the students as unfair because majority of the students have left the campus since the coronavirus pandemic started.

“Students are required to pay all relevant dues such as tuition fees, hostel fees, and mess dues, etc.Hostel fee will be charged at the old rate”, said the circular dated 14 August 2020.

Also, the students’ union call the hostel charges as illogical because there were huge problems. Students who stayed in the hostel campus were not given proper breakfast since the coronavirus lockdown started.

The union plans to postpone the registration process till all the existing problems of students are sorted out.
