Industrial Training Institutes to reopen in Himachal Pradesh

The government of Himachal Pradesh has announced that it will reopen Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) from October 1.

ITI was shut down for nearly six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

State Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur approved of reopening the institute but with strict following of the precautionary measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

In Himachal Pradesh, the schools have reopened with 50% teaching and non-teaching staff from 21 September outside the containment zones.

For the unaware, Industrial Training Institutes and Industrial Training Centers are basically post-secondary schools in India.

They have set up under Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Union Government to impart training and development for candidates in different occupations.
