EdTech is basically the short form of Education Technology. Education has been there since ages but with the boom of technology in all spheres of our lives, EdTech came to prominence.
EdTech is the use of computer hardware, software, and educational theory and practice to provide a learning platform to the students and learners.
EdTech is also known as online learning or digital learning platform. EdTech firms have seen a surge in their business activities as the coronavirus pandemic led to shutdown of schools and colleges all over the country.
EdTech helps improve user’s academic performance and its learning environment involves learners, teachers, and the right technology that connects them to facilitate learning.
EdTech invovles even mobile technologies nowadays to ensure there is learning happening among students. For example, when the lockdown was imposed, many teachers forwarded notes and test papers to students on WhatsApp to keep them engaged in educational activities.
EdTech improves classroom learning by making use of blended, face to face, or online learning.
