Emotional well-being means the emotional heath that an individual has. Emotional well-being has been affected by multiple factors such as economic, situational, demographic, and others. One can witness how due to the outbreak of coronavirus in January 2020, every person’s emotional well-being has been reduced by some amount or percentage depending on how it has impacted their lives.
Lowered emotional well-being leads to various mental health issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, and in a way, it also affects physically such as leading to low energy, sleep disturbances, digestive issues, and other health concerns. Emotional distress generally occurs in people with low self-esteem, negative attitude towards life, highly emotionally sensitive people, very self-conscious or self-critical people, people who are introverts and are extremely worried or uncertain about their future, and also people who live in the past and do not accept reality as it is.
Emotional well-being can be improved if people work upon enhancing their self-esteem, performance, and productivity at the workplace and even try avoiding negative emotions like sadness, anger, worry, etc. Emotional well-being is of utmost importance if a person wishes to lead a good life. Just like we exercise or do activities at home or at the gym to stay physically fit, similarly, in order to attain a stable mind with a positive outlook, one has to engage himself in activities that give the mind pleasure and peace.
One can enroll for a meditation class online or listen to soothing songs, watch funny movies or serials, talk to people who are quite active and energetic in life, keep away all addictions and people who always criticize, get angry, or are highly emotionally vulnerable. Say no to such people to protect your mental health is not a sin and hence, you should definitely take a break from such people who keep nagging and bothering you with their problems.
