New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has told the Supreme Court that it is against the postponement or cancellation of the CA exam which is scheduled to start from July 5.
The ICAI has also told the court that the number of COVID cases has come down significantly, it is the right time to conduct the examination for those aspiring to become a Chartered Accountant. ICAI in its note to the court said that CA exam is professional and it should not be compared with CBSE. It cannot be postponed or canceled in the interest of the interested Chartered Accountants.
SC will hear this on Tuesday. Advocate Meenakshi Arora told the court that ICAI has unilaterally changed many centers. The Supreme Court has asked the counsel for ICAI to bring instructions on this.
CA Exam is scheduled to be held on 5th July 2021. In such a situation, a petition has been filed to postpone this examination. The petition has also sought direction from the apex court for opt-out option, additional effort of the students.
Along with this, a demand has also been made to increase the number of examination centers for ICAI CA Final, Inter and Foundation Examination 2021.

This petition has been filed by Anubha Srivastava Sahai. The petition was heard by a three-judge bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Anuradha Bose.
The petition has challenged the June 5 notification issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, ICAI, which had said that the examination would be conducted in July. In this petition, there has been a demand to postpone the CA examinations.
