Delhi Board of School Education Receives Nod

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated that the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) has obtained clearance from apex authorities for examination, certification, and equivalency with other recognized boards. Students from DBSE connected schools will be allowed to enroll in other boards, and their certificates will be accepted for entrance to further education institutions. “The DBSE is ready to revolutionise learning assessment with COBSE and AIU approvals “Sisodia explained.

The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), an inter-university organization representing Indian universities, had previously accepted the DBSE petition and agreed to “provide equivalence to Delhi Board of School Education.

With these approvals in place, students graduating from DBSE schools will receive universally recognized and accepted credentials, much like those given by the CBSE and other recognized Boards. All recognized Boards and Indian Universities will accept the mark sheets and certificates given by DBSE. The Delhi government authorized the creation of the DBSE earlier this year to shift away from a one-time end-of-year, rote-learning-based examination system and instead build a framework of ongoing evaluation.

The DBSE has 30 schools associated with it this academic year. In the coming years, all of Delhi’s government schools will be connected with the DBSE, which has begun working in collaboration with the International Baccalaureate (IB).
