
The Central Government informed the Supreme Court on Wednesday, October 6, that the modifications to the NEET SS test format will begin in the academic year 2022-23. “The current exam will be held in accordance with the 2020 programme”, the Additional Solicitor General told the Supreme Court today.

The decision to alter the NEET SS test format from next year was made after consulting with the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and considering that students studying for NEET SS 2021 will not be affected by the new exam pattern.
The Supreme Court panel has dismissed the petitions contesting the modifications to the NEET SS 2021 pattern. An appeal in the Supreme Court by 41 PG-certified doctors, claiming that the last-minute alterations would harm the students.

The request contested these last-minute adjustments, claiming that they were made to favor general medicine applicants. The Centre has already informed the Supreme Court that the NEET SS 2021 test will be rescheduled for January 11-12, 2022.
