Date:

Kota (Rajasthan): Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan has said there are no plans to merge engineering entrance examination JEE and medical entrance examination NEET with the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Pradhan made the statement during an interaction with the students of Allen Career Institute in Kota, Rajasthan. He visited the city for a day.

Chairman of University Grants Commission Jagadesh Kumar said in August that JEE and NEET would be combined with CUET.

According to Pradhan, the merger of NEET, JEE and CUET is just a concept, but the government has no plans to do that. Most of the students who took part in the interaction were from Odisha, his home state. He said that the Central Government might set up a digital university in the country wherein students can pursue multi-disciplinary courses for dual degrees.
