Defsys Solutions was honoured as the “Best SEZ MSME under Engineering and Metallurgical Products” at the Indian Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs Export Awards of 2016-17 and 2017-2018.
Presented by Dr L B Singhal, Zonal Development Commissioner, New Delhi, the Export Promotion Council is a government body recognized by Ministry of Commerce, Government of India that aims at recognizing EOUs and SEZs under Special Economic Zone for their outstanding export performance.
With exports playing an important role in the Indian economy, the rise of new industries in both manufacturing and services sectors has led to a great contribution in the foreign exchange earnings of India, and Keeping ‘Make in India’ goals in the future.
Exports from SEZs grew by 18% year-on-year between the financial year 2016-17 and 2017-18. The EOU/SEZ sector contributes 31% in the total national exports, with a total of Rs. 4,43,821 crores (US $83 billion).
With the right policy backing, the SEZ-EOU sector today has become a large contributor to the country’s manufacturing, exports, and employment generation. According to the Export Promotion Council, the major sectors contributing positively to the growth include biotech, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, computers, non-conventional energy, trading and services.
